Event in memory of Achille Boroli 2024

The event kicked off with an opening address by the President of the Fondazione, Andrea Boroli, who paid tribute to the memory of his father and the intellectual legacy that he has left behind. Afterwards, Professor Carlo Altomonte, coordinator of the European Economic Policy course, delved into the analysis of the economic implications of environmental policies, providing a clear and enlightening picture of the situation, before introducing a panel discussion involving speakers of the caliber of Sylvie Goulard, Co-Chair of the International Advisory Panel on Biodiversity Credits, Amelia Fawcett, Co-Chair of the same Panel, and Andrea Illy, Chairman of Illycaffè SpA.

Together, their visions and experiences enhanced the debate on environmental policies and the actions needed to preserve biodiversity and combat climate change.
Afterwards, Catherine De Vries, Dean for International Affairs, Foundation President Andrea Boroli and Professor Altomonte awarded the three winning projects in the CIVICA Capstone Project Competition, an initiative jointly designed and promoted by all the institutions that are part of the CIVICA network.

The final keynote address of the event was delivered by Professor Gianmarco Ottaviano, Fondazione Achille e Giulia Boroli Chair in European Studies, who shared a clear and inspiring perspective on the future of Europe and the importance of tackling environmental challenges with determination.

Once again, Bocconi and Fondazione Achille e Giulia Boroli succeeded in promoting meaningful thinking on issues which are vital for our future, reflecting the intellectual legacy and social commitment of Achille Boroli.
