AXA e Bocconi still together: “The role of Gender Equality in building societal resilience”
Giacomo Gigantiello
Gender Equality is still a very major challenge to make society more resilient. We currently have 2.4 billion women who do not have the same rights as men, and the cost of not having women in the workforce is very high, about 160 trillion

The AXA Research Lab on Gender Equality was born from the joint commitment of Bocconi University and AXA Research Fund and AXA Italia to the research on gender dynamics. The activity of the Lab, directed by Paola Profeta, is developed on various themes and is aimed at promoting gender equality in the economic and social spheres, through rigorous scientific methods and through the dissemination of the research results.

For this purpose, the second edition of the Lab's annual conference took place at Bocconi on March 30. The event, sponsored by the European Commission, discussed the role of gender equality in making society increasingly resilient, giving voice to several experts in the field. Speakers included, besides AXA Lab on Gender Equality Director Paola Profeta, also Anne Boring, who heads the AXA-Sciences Po Women in Business Chair, Monika Queisser, Head of Social Policy at the OECD, and Simone Innocenti, who serves as Chief HR, Organization & Culture Officer at AXA Italy. The event was introduced by Giacomo Gigantiello, CEO of AXA Italia, and the Rector of Bocconi University, Francesco Billari.

The conference was also attended by Antonio Parenti, director of the European Commission's representation in Italy, and through video messages, Minister for Equal Opportunities and Family Eugenia Roccella and ANIA and ANIA Foundation President Maria Bianca Farina also intervened.
