Joint Purpose

The partnership that has connected Bocconi and Eni since 2003 was consolidated in 2003 with the establishment of the Chair in Energy Markets, assigned to Michele Polo, Full Professor of Economics at our university since 2003. He is also President of GREEN (Center for Research in Geography, Resources, Environment, Energy and Networks), which has developed educational and research initiatives on the evolution of energy markets and energy policies over the years, as well as on the issues of the environment and climate change. The establishment of the endowed chair allows the company to constantly dialogue with Bocconi regarding research and teaching activities relating to the entire chain of the energy market and sustainability, from an international economic and managerial perspective. Over the last year, a wide-ranging research project was set up on the impact of decarbonization policies on the Milanese metropolitan area, with particular attention to the possibility of doubling and adapting the sewer network and the use of the water aqueduct for the widespread supply of heat pump systems for heating / cooling.
