Andrea Bonomi
I am excited to have announced today, in a prestigious setting like Bocconi University, an initiative that is very dear to me. The figure of my grandmother Anna, a pioneer in female empowerment since the post-war period, has been an inspiration to many not only in the financial world. Remembering what she accomplished by founding the Carline in Milan and being able to replicate it today by supporting future generations to become the managers of tomorrow is priceless to me. The legacy of a figure like my grandmother will continue to influence deserving young female students, and I can only be proud of this.

Founder, Investindustrial

Established in 2016, the Investindustrial Foundation supports the promotion of education, the protection and conservation of the environment, the arts, culture, heritage, and science. The Foundation was established by the Bonomi family and Investindustrial, a leading European investment firm with 13 billion euros of capital raised from a base of long-term investors.

Thanks to the contribution of the Bonomi family, the Foundation, in line with its philanthropic mission, has chosen to support new generations of deserving female students by establishing a named support fund - the Anna Bonomi Women Award - which for six years, starting from 2023, will provide financial support to a total of 18 students, giving them the opportunity to obtain a bachelor’s degree at Bocconi University.

The scholarships aim to continue the charitable initiative launched in the early 1940s by the “Lady of Finance,” as Anna Bonomi was called, with the creation of the Carline in Milan, an institute for the education and assistance of impoverished girls.

The main objective is to help promote female leadership in the business world and in Italian society in general, as well as to bridge a significant gap in career opportunities between women and men.
