ALGEBRIS INVESTMENTS
Algebris is a global savings management company founded by Alumnus Davide Serra (Business Administration, 1995), supporter of the University since 2017. In addition, thanks to a contribution from Algebris, the “Algebris Chair in Long-Term Investment and Absolute Return” was established in 2019. Held by Stefano Caselli, Dean for International Affairs and Full Professor in the Department of Finance, it was originally a fixed-term chair, but received further backing in 2021 when Algebris decided to make it permanent. A new ecosystem is emerging in which investors play a key role, capable of unlocking potential and growth. These rapidly growing investments favor a financial system tied more closely to the real economy and with a strong positive impact. The chair was established with a dual role: on the one hand is research on these topics on the other an annual Training Camp, during which students will be able to meet with the best professionals in the sector.
Furthermore, as a Strategic Partner, Algebris is a member of the Partners for Development Program and is actively involved in life at Bocconi through the Development Committee and the Coordination Committee.
Through the creation of a permanent Chair, Algebris has chosen to donate to the endowment, demonstrating that it places great trust in the University, its mission and its management of resources. The University’s endowment fund is capital that the University invests in the long term generating an annual return, which guarantees the independence and sustainability of Bocconi activities over time.
